Crap ranked school (1 Viewer)

My school refuses to give me one based on my current results (something amongst the lines of "we don't want to give you false hope") but i would really like to know where i am and how much i need to improve to obtain my goal . If i'm in a crappy ranked school (somewhere in the 400s - but i think we will do better then the last cohort) is there really a point in me getting a uai estimate?

Yeah, my school is in the top 40 and refuses to give UAI estimates until we're in the middle of Year 12. The school is lazy I guess.

I don't think it really matters whether your school is ranked in the 400s. I think you still deserve a UAI estimate.

Is it for Cadetship? Scholarship? In that case, you should be able to get one...

well, the less consistent your school, the harder it is to give an estimate
so yeah, dw about it tooo much

1st in chem legal modern
2nd in english and eng. ext (should be able to grab 1st in both)
5th in mathematics (should be able to move to top 3)

if i had ranks like that what type of uai estimate would you be able to give me? Or would it be down to how well i did in my externals?

your uai is what you deserve in the end

i went to the sixth last ranked school in NSW
and just seeing how low my school is ranked i felt so hopeless
but at the end it turned out all good
i did get some good ranks about 3rd 2nd in most of my subjects and i was competeing with some really weak students so being first or second wasn't that hard which is an advantage
i ended up with a uai of 85.30 and our school hardly gets ppl who get any where in the 80s
we even got a girl who got 96 and one 92 and few 80s
so at the end DO NOT WORRY ABOUT SCHOOL RANKS
i did worry when i was in ur situation but it turned out not worthwhile
and let me tell u i did some of the shittest subjects in the shittest school and still to me 85 is great
so don't put ur hopes down i don't think ur school would be lower ranked than mine

to let u know i did community and family studies, business studies, maths general, arabic continuers and English ESL

Yeh, don't worry too much... at least you're not Ruse which gives out UAI estimates waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too early.
