What is the chance that they will ask about effectiveness in Crim law though?
Hopefully some people may find this helpful, personally i am kinda lost.

but ive always thought that they give you a scenario for the crime section and you work off that.
like "describe the sentencing process B& J are likely to face to determine a suitable punishment."

or "assess how the criminal process provides fairness for B&J"

Yeah they give yo ucases and such, and it isn't an essay.

But they can still ask about effectiveness (i think) and as such i thought it would be good to show which cases relate to what and stuff... i think im screwed.

i think crime is a bunch of short answer Q's... the last one being about eaul or <10 marks... so a substantial amount of writing... but not like an full on formal 5 page response obviously.

As an example last year the two big Crime questions asked you to:

How criminal law reflects the communities morals and standards.
And evaluate effectivenesss in relation to international crime.

There's no real essay...

It's usually 2 short answer questions worth 3-4 marks usually about mens rea/actus reus, summary/indictable offences, defences, types of crime....etc. where u refer to the stimulus material

Then there's extended responses usually worth 7-9 marks depending on question asking about purpose/effective of punishment or how the law address issues concerning rights of the victim, accused and the community etc etc

1) Morality, ethics and commitment to the law
2) Effectiveness
and
3) Law Reform

I think you need to talk about how changing values and such create a change in law. Give examples and stuff and things. Lets just hope it isn't in.
