'Critically analyse the the test from a design and experimental point of view' - what does that mean? (1 Viewer)

Hi there.

We have an experiment where we have to launch a bottle rocket. At the moment, I'm in the last stage of the depth study, but I'm not entirely sure what this statement means. When they say design, what might that mean? Maybe how fins contribute to stability? What about for experimental?

The rocket is made out of 2x 1.25L bottles, with a cone that has a parachute lodged inside. The fins are made out of cardboard. Hopefully, that does some good for the context of this question.

"Critically analyse the test ..."
In every science prac, we have an Aim and a Method. Then when you write your Conclusion, it must relate to your original Aim.
Did you achieve what you set out to prove, etc.
Did any uncontrolled variables interfere with the success of your method, etc.
So, what was your Aim or your Hypothesis in the bottle rocket experiment?
Did you achieve the design aim of your bottle rocket, and did it demonstrate Newton's Third Law of Motion, i.e. that the reverse momentum of the fluid exiting the nozzle was matched by the forward momentum imparted to the rocket.
That should help you get started.
