How did everyone go?

Honestly it was a lot better than I expected personally, couple of interesting question, but nothing too hard I don't think.

Anyone know what the extended response for Q2Q was?

Found it much easier than last years paper, probably 90-95, astro was definitely the easiest its been in years
Can't say I'll be that high up, but hoping for around 85+
Geophysics was also pretty easy.
Anyone have any ideas on a rough B6 cutoff?

Also what did everyone get for the gravitational acceleration question?

Not sure what you mean by band 6 cut-off for an internal assessment but for the planet question I got 2.56 ms^-2 but could definitely be wrong. Tbh some of the MC was harder than the core questions, what did everyone have for the superconductor one? I chose the ceramic one with the highest critical temp (~90K?).

I chose the answer with all 3 under the temp of the liquid. My theory was that the bottom must be in a super conducting state so that the meissner effect occurs. Thinking back though it may only be with Type 1 superconductors, so could potentially just be the two pure metals.
I just meant roughly what would a Band 6 student be getting in an exam like that I guess?
Also, I used the same method, but didn't realise the initial time business, so i got 1.88ms^-2, but I think that's wrong :(

I chose all 3 under the bp of the liquid too, and also got 1.88ms^-2 (I think...it was around that) but I agree I don't think I did my time displacement relationship right.

Yeah, I sort of realised after that the first flash would be at t=0, so the time would be 6/16
I think anyway, I hope I was right haha

Yea think you are right with the MC, uhh for b6 student idk, I'd assume it would be a little bit above the HSC (maybe 85?) not higher than that. For the time-displacement graph, we were told pictures are taken 16 times per second, so would that mean using F = 1/T, each picture of the balls are seperated 1/16s? This results in it covering 18cm in 6 * 1/16s (6 pictures were shown of Ball A's decent), then using change in Y formula a = 2.56?

Yeah I don't know what weird unit conversion magic I was doing, I was in milliseconds and then back to seconds (for a minute I was thinking there were 60 milliseconds in a second :spzz:)so IDK anymore...

Ahaha same happened to me, never practiced a question like that. Actually annoyed now that I also screwed up that MC Q :( ah well, good job everyone on how they went and 83+ would be a competitive mark.

You can learn from your mistakes for the HSC :)
