Reccomend getting an Excel HSC IPT book or some study guides which will answer ALL your questions.

Or read through the textbook material/notes on BoS, and then go from there. If you feel totally clueless, I'd recommend checking with your teacher at school first as they should be the ones who help you establish the basic concepts, and then from there look for additional material or ask on here
