death note was good (not the best....but good) until around ep 20 or so
i struggled up to ep 26 after then and then gave up when my internets ran out XDD

I'd have to agree that the manga didn't translate too well in some scenes (for example, the chip eating trick, we've got dramatic music, dramatic monologue, chip salt sparkling in the room...)

The show was just awesome. So awesome that it couldn't outdo it's initial awesomeness - it just got too good too quickly. LOL.

I wanted to watch it all at once rather than later and it found its place in my stuvac period.
