In light of all the medicine topics, I decided to post another one of my own.

I've been reading from various sources that Dentistry graduates (back in 2002 at least) were receiving $52,000 a year, whereas medical graduates received only 45k per year! I think that's changed, could someone look it up in the Good Univerisities Guide?
There doesn't seem to be any current info on the net and the good unis website is tight, they want 22 bucks for membership...bastards.

What's more shocking is that Pharmacy graduates get less than anyone else, only 25 k.

So what's the big deal?

Why are you worried about how much this and that makes? But just for your information, dentists make more money and dont have medical indemnity crises...so if you're looking for the dough I'm afraid you came to the wrong place matey :p

eh? Those are GRADUATE salaries, in the long run, most doctors make more than dentists (especially specialists!)

I'm not into med for the money in case you're thinking that, but believe you me, doctors make a LOT, so I dunno why you think otherwise...I just happen to find all these minor details amusing and interesting.

yeah, also bcoz dentists get their money directly from the customers- don't have to go thru government and stuff i guess.

Specialists only make the big money because they make the specialisation. How many other MBBS grads DON'T get to specialise, but remain in hospitals for years, eh? :)

6 years? What crack are you on?!
Well to be fair, it's actually upto 4 years for specialisation, less for general practice. And if you're going to UNCLE, you only study for 5 years, then do your 6th yr internship and from that point on you are both studying and learning in the clinic - not the university.

It's not as bad as it seems, considering all jobs are expected to have a little bit of continual learning :)
