No no no no Chris I love you but you are completely wrong. As education becomes increasingly reliant on access to the internet, the new system is nothing but redundant.Exphate said:The net is much older than that friend. Read
Let's be honest:-
a) The internet is full of unsolicited crap. I can post something on the internet as truth, without you knowing otherwise (wiki anyone?). I suggest you visit the library and research there
To get into a book, everything is overviewed by panels of experts to ensure it's all on the level and alike. Much more reliable
b) It's easier to block everything and allow what you want, than to block what you don't want and keep the rest. That way, you little kiddies have less chance to waste time in class
c) STUDY AT HOME
IN SUMMARY
Read a book.
The end.
Just take my Ancient research lesson today as an example. We were booked into one of the computer rooms because the library is there for individuals, not entire classes. I have no access to books, we are booked into this room under the assumption that any information we need can be accessed by the computers. Of course, literally three-quarters of the sites I need are blocked under "Uncategorised" making the entire lesson a complete waste of time.
Frankly, there's no excuse for any kind of censorship. But this is just so ridiculous it kind of hurts. I'm not looking to play games, or watch porno, I'm trying to find some fucking Xenophon quotes to corroborate my sexy Herodotus sources.
