I'm just accustomed to her having long hair, for me, it just made her slightly more feminine. Now with shorter hair, she acts and NOW LOOKS like a dude (I guess, it kind of symbolises Deb's change from the beginning to the end of Season 2 but it was probably just the actress wanting a change with the writers writing it into her character). Won't keep me from watching it though.
I like Rita, shes changed a lot since her meek, vunerable days of Season 1. All the characters on the show are well written (sometimes the dialogue can be off) and well acted. If anything, Jimmy Smits isn't doing it for me, it's kind of hard to watch himself force the tears. Maybe, he should've auditioned for the role of Dexter instead.
