My CUL202 outline doesn't say anything except 'attendance at all seminars is compulsary'

I missed one, with documentation
Then I missed three, all without documentation. I can get documentation for one of those days if I really really need to though

most times they say 'you must attend 10 out of 13 seminars without justification.... so am I safe? I guess I've attended nine.

Try talking to your tutors about it - I know with some subjects at several unis they let you do make up work, for e.g summaries of the readings/lectures of a missed week, on the weeks you've missed. Otherwise you should probably try to get that documentation, better to be safe than sorry.

yeah I could get the documentation... or not lol (would prefer to stay at home and work on assessments)

any Cul or SCMP people or people really familiar with either of those two areas able to shed more light on the subject? I'm pretty sure I'm safe but would like to be as sure as I can be without/prior to talking to the tutor

I thought that unless its explicitly stated you need to attend x amount of lectures or else you'll fail, the general lee-way was no more than 3 missed.

Documentation is usually exempted from the 3, though its CUL, so perhaps get in touch with someone, they're pretty anal (about everything)

EDIT: Nick Mansfield says "I think it would be a good idea for you to go a tutorial tomorrow" *head desk*

stress building. Doesn't help that my body clock is screwed and I keep thinking it's tuesday (it's monday), because my self-set cul207 deadline is thursday but I haven't even started it yet!!!! gah panic panic panic

I'm just nervous because I'm going to leave the house at 7:30am tomorrow, and won't get back till about 6pm :( (drop bro at school --> physio --> cul202 tute --> work). I'm a few days behind my schedule... having another day knocked almost completely out is stressful :( just getting so worried that I'm not going to get everything done in time...!!!

haha nah my tutor is cool and overly laid back (Kishani Pilapitiya, who is also 8 1/2 months pregnant! haha she promises to finish marking all our stuff, even if she has to do it in hospital :p)

glad I went today though. Was reminded that we had to refer to a particular 'prose writer' in detail, and I hadn't even bought the book yet (let alone read it, or go to the lecture...). Work ahoy, much?

This is what it states 'Tutorial Attendance: 10% of the marks are for tutorial participation; and essay extensions are
dependent on your tutorʹs assessment of your satisfactory attendance (see Assessment policy
below). So be sure to attend, and to sign the roll sheet at each session. If you cannot attend
your regular tutorial, try to attend at another time. Note the day, time and room of your
usual tutorial group on the roll. If you are sick or having a crisis, your tutor will give you
credit for missed attendance in most circumstances.
The purpose of tutorials in this course is to foster informed discussion. Therefore you should
read the assigned material before your tutorial. Tutorials refer to material covered in
lectures, either consolidating a concept or extending it in a specific direction. Many of the key
terms in tutorial readings may be defined and discussed in the lecture ‐ so attendance of
lectures is vital to following tutorial readings and discussion. If you find the material
difficult or there are things you donʹt understand in the readings, bring your questions to
discuss. Make a note of the important issues that the readings and lectures pose for you and
raise them at your tutorial. '

I don't think you would have failed, maybe you'll get 1 or 2% of the 10% tutorial participation.

hmm

You know, you might be ok... maybe email your tutor to be on the safe side, but if they don't have any 'attendance compulsary'/'you will fail if you attend less then 10 our of 13 of the tutes', then it could be ok. :)

You should be ok...you'll just have a crap tute mark (oh noes 10% :p)
The thing is, of course your tutor will know you are jigging since there is a roll. You should have just gone in, quickly ticked your name off, and then got the hell out of there, its the Macquarie way...
