Hi, so
I'm aiming for around 95.05 as I want to get into International and Global Studies at USyd, but I'm really worried that won't be possible.
I've always been pretty lazy, as I'm quite intelligent naturally so I just kind of glided by. I really am amazingly lazy. Anyway, I didn't motivate myself in the first term and this term I've just been half-attempting to catch up.

I go to a really good selective school (Top ten ATAR ranking 2012), but I am probably around the top of the bottom third of people in our grade. Last year over 60% of students got 95 ATARs and over, but I have I have no idea if it's still possible to get a 95 after these half yearlies, but I'm going to estimate I got (in percentages, including Term 1 assessments and half yearlies) around

84 - English Adv.
88 - Modern
84 - Economics
80 - Business
95 - French Cont.
36 - French Ext.

Obviously my school scales up a huge amount because of the quality of the grade's work, but...ugghhh!! Is it too late!? ALSO: WHAT DO I NEED TO DO?!

I saw the post on the possibilities of 'late comebacks' but I'm not doing as well as that guy and the details were so sketchy.

You can not, mate simply as that. Do not get your hopes up, jokes bro.

I would say of course you can, mate. Stay happy for god sake, your in a selective school, aren't you. So why sould you worry this much, think about, lol. For example, I hate people who get average marks, and still cry about it.

You like above 80s for most your subjects, if you can manage to stay motivated and do so. if you can't then, simple how can you achieve 95+.

I would guess given that you go to a highly ranked school its still a possibility mathematically speaking. But if you don't do enough work you won't reach your potential and you may be dissapointed with your results.
So basically what you put in is what you will get out.

Have hope and believe that you can go beyond 95, then it is possible. If you don't believe in yours self and have faith. You want even go beyond 95. trust me bro. Open you book and start revising all you class notes, keep up to date with any Homework and do your asssignemt properly, bet the no. 1 kid at your school and you will get beyond 95.

Good luck, in betting up the no. 1 kid. HAHA

it is dependent on how your school does - well YOUR year. and also how hard your school examinations are.. cos that reflects your results.

those marks don't look half bad - i've noticed in selective schools that they tend to mark a lot harder.

but I am probably around the top of the bottom third of people in our grade.
it's only been two assessment tasks....ranks slip a lot around the trials (which are usually worth the most) so if you do reasonably well you can guarantee yourself good ranks and a favourable chance at 95+

if you've naturally glided by it probably means your studying skills aren't too much of an issue. find the motivation (e.g. why do you want to do international and global studies?) and make that "half-attempt" a full attempt for the final six months! good luck!
