Hi guys, I'm currently on my way to returning to Sydney, but here's the thing, I missed out on the bridging courses offered at usyd this past week in which I needed to take hsc bio since I didn't do it in year 12, and since I'm taking on bio1001 and bio1003, not to mention mblg1001. If any of you guys went, was it worth it? What did you learn?

1001 is concepts of cell biology, DNA, theory of evolution etc. 1003 was tailored more to learning on the basic physiology and anatomy of humans eg. reproductive system, different organs and functions etc.

So I'm guessing the bridging course was a good opportunity I missed..

No, not really. Like I said, there are people in the past who had never taken up Chemistry or Physics or Biology during the HSC and still managed to get a decent mark in the fundamental units at university. Fundamental units are your basics 101 - they cover the need to know. You'll be fine. The tutors and lab demonstrators are Honours or Med Students (BIOL1003 and any ANAT, PHSI kind of units) that are friendly and are open to you if you don't have a grasp of the lecture content. Plus Wikipedia... get use to going back and forth to understand key terminology.

As for MBLG I dropped that unit in a heartbeat when I realised I did not need it for my major hahaha. But it's a decent unit from what people are telling me - you just need to really keep up with it.
