Financial Mathematics and Statistics incorporates study in both Mathematics and Statistics, you can take electives from this major in most courses at USYD. You need to take junior, intermediate and senior units in both mathematics and statistics.

Statistics is just statistics. So with Stats you're just doing statistics units, although you'll still need to take certain first year Maths units to qualify for intermediate and senior units.

I'd imagine Financial Maths and Statistics has broader opportunities, as you're studying both Stats AND Maths.
