i think i would include

  • galvanic cells are able to use redox reactions to change chemical to electrical energy
  • this leads to the development of portable devices such as torches, extending the lifestyle activities of society.
  • the improper disposal of batteries such as lead acid batteries may harm the environment. e.g. lead can bioaccumulate and cause neurological damage if entered into the food chain.

Also include the use of solar energy as its use for electricity requires the use of a photovoltaic cell which functions through redox reactions

Fuel cells also, especially the hydrogen fuel cell where the product is pure water

Also need to consider the materials in many portable cells contain toxic materials as well as metals that can bioaccumulate
