have u read or viewed any of those texts ( i personally havent and i cannot make an informed decision)
if u get a choice (ur bloody lucky first of all) u should do wot u like best, and the texts which CLEARLY SHOW how they shape meaning...

I did ext eng in yr 11 this yr ( im dropping it) and i know for a fact that they r doing anil's ghost and skull beneath the skin -- i guess it depends on the electives whithin each module that ur scool selects

Anthony and Cleopatra
Emma / Clueless

Extension English we do Gendered Lanugage

the english ones seem pretty good - they are just sooo long. The only thing worrying me is the extension course cause so few schools do Gendered lanuguage

Anicent History we have
A History of Rome - Scullard adn Cary
A History of Greece - Bury and Megs
A View from the Forum
Something else on Greece...

Modern

Extension History
History and the Historians

and Religion
Living Religion - which i hate because it is so brief and has absolultly no information in it that is usefull

I have for Advanced English next year:

  • Enders Game (Prose Fiction - Journeys)
  • Chaucer's Pardoner's Tale (Poetry - Transformations)
  • Shakespeare's "King Lear" (Critical Study of texts)
  • Frontline (Media - Telling the Truth)

I have read about 3/4 of Enders Game (and l think its a great book) and got some notes for King Lear (from Huy - Thanks again :D)

The Standard class are doing:

  • The Poetry of Peter Skrzynecki - (Journeys)
  • The Bush Tucker Man - (Telling Stories)
  • We All Fall Down (Prose Fiction - Close Study of Text)
  • Educating Rita (Drama - Into the World)

I am dissapointed that Advanced aren't doing anything Australian, l wish l was doing the Bush Tucker Man.. :(

ive read enders game about one and a half times, it's pretty interesting but i think it's going to be hard to explain the journey and support it with quotes but anyways, should be fun :S
