Hi guys
I am just so confused about calculating power in physics.
Do we have to consider the friction when we are calculating the power?
The equation of power is work done/ time.

Like when we are hiking from the point A to the highest point, if we are calculating work done, we only need to find the force and the displacement or simply just calculate the potential energy gained in the whole journey.
However, when we are asked to find the total power, do we just need to divide the work done by time, or we have to consider the friction?

Thanks lot.
