Ask yourself the following:

1/ Do i like the subject?

2/ Is the guy teaching it any good?

No point learning if the guy can't teach. No point learning if you can't learn.

Also if you are going in for a business or commerce degree at university it might be a good idea to do economics.
Myself having not done economics struggled at economics for business this semester at uni as I had not done it in year 12. The economics students who did it in high school had an edge over everyone else and they found it easy. We covered things done in the two year HSC course as well as new content all in 12 weeks. I found it pretty full on

But anyway for you choosing it for school, it would be good if you had an interest in it. It would help. Theres nothing worse than doing a subject you don't like.

I've certainly found economics interesting over the past 2 years, and it has allowed me to appreciate how markets function, the blur of theory and reality, the complexities of economic behaviour in various countries. If you are keen on taking the course, give it a go! :)

yes it is interesting..cos u'll be needing a bit of economic knowledge in the future for ur own use anyway. And if u take it as far as uni, then it'd be a good foundation course.

I enjoyed economics... it felt like something useful, and if you are interested in business and investing, then learning it at HSC level will not only be useful to you then, it'll be useful in the future (also if you choose to study Commerce- you'll ace eco in uni!).

Economics is very useful, even if you don't pursue it as a career. It helps you understand society and it's economy as a whole.

I enjoy it, very much so.
It helps you to appreciate what's happening around you - in society and the economy, and how economics isn't a simple, black and white thing.

Oh gosh I wish I enjoyed economics half as much as you guys do!!!

I don't think it would be that bad... but we weren't lucky enough to get a good teacher so I get so confused...

It is good to learn about when you actually understand though...

its a good subject that the most relevant of all the subjects (in my opinion). I like it a lot. Its quite difficult though but i like the challange. However, a career in it isn't my cup of tea.
