Does any One Know What Subs i need for year 11&12 to become a Midwife (1 Viewer)

Well i know that every midwife Starts as a nurse

But what subjects do i need to complete this

There are no subject prerequisites for nursing and midwifery. Any two units of english is assumed knowledge though. Two units of science and mathematics are also recommended by some universities.

You can also either do a B of Midwifery at UTS, etc or do a Nursing course and obtain a diploma in Midwifery to gain entry.

If you're going to do any sciences, I'd put biology over chem for nursing. Not a great deal of chem required (i.e. you dont have any individual chem based ones, maybe other than pharmacueticals but that depends where you do your degree)

I found that Biology helped, particularly the communication elective. Advanced english helped with my essay writing skills, and all Chem did was pump up my UAI (thanks Chem!). My boyf did Health for his HSC and sometimes when I mention certain diseases I'm studying in class, he says that he already knows some info about them because of Health.
