Hahaha, Ender's Game. Read it in Year 9, thought it was shit. The only good thing that came out of it was the lol interpretive dance our group got to perform, that was the best thing ever.

how did you dance to a book?

that is how talented we are. nah it's not that hard at all, the task was to "creatively express" whatever theme we were given, our group was "power". I don't remember much, it was played for laughs and pretty much improvised on the spot, but we had a puppet master and puppets and shit.

it was fucking epic.

Regurgitate everything your english teacher says in class.

That's seriously all there is to it.

mmmhhh...

There's a little bit more to it than that, Jachie.

Not much, but a little more than straight regurgitation.

And I really don't like "The Fiftieth Gate". In fact, the whole "History and Memory" module is frustrating and annoying...

Away - An incredible play, no doubt. I just don't like it :X
King Lear- Fucking kill me now. Hate.
Wordsworth- Love
An Imaginary Life- Love

Additional texts (need another one or two...)
Heart Of Darkness- Absolutely fucking brilliant- best I've ever read.

Didn't read the OP so I don't know if this is just adv, but I kinda like Handmaid's Tale & Dune to a lesser extent.

I don't mind mine:

Empire Of the Sun- J.G. Ballard
Hamlet-Will Shakespeare
&
Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead-Tom Stoppard

So far they're not too bad, and I've chosen some really good related texts.

What kind of journey is everyone going on?? :)

We're doing "inner" journeys, and it's pretty stupid, but not too bad, really.

the only character i quasi-like in king lear is edmond, and even he becomes pissweak and aids in the final scene, i felt so gipped. every single other character is made of fail. that's why i have trouble viewing it as a 'tragedy', i have no sympathy for anyone in the play and will never, ever be able to see lear himself as a 'hero'.

On Giants' Shoulders: I hated this book the first time I read it. Funnily enough, as we analysed the crap out of it in English I actually found I liked it better.

Brave New World: It's a little slow at the beginning but overall pretty good. In hindsight the beginning is interesting as well, and gives a good first glance into the society, but its still a bit heavy.

Yeats: I actually love the poems we've done so far, especially The Wild Swans at Coole. I've been not dreading going to English for the first time in like 5 years lol.

I am not too fond of 'My Place'. Which is probably why I spent all of my reading time during the holidays with '1984' and 'Catch 22'.
