helloo

im not sure for chem but judging from my chem friends some stuff taught in yr 11 is useful and may bee needed for yr 12 (take that with a grain of salt i don't do chem)

i do biology however and id say i know its easy to forget things post prelims (lwk forgot the yr 11 syllabus)

i know some general stuff is needed like skills etc

its good to develop new habits for studying
keep ur yr 11 notes just incase

some stuff that may be in yr 12 (if i forget any I'm so sorry)
  • risk tables and generic experiment stuff like hypothesis, independent variable, control etc
  • skills in analysing graphs, tables and able to conclude like trends etc
  • remember ur cells (eukaryotic, prokaryotic) - differences and similarities, cell functions and structure - be able to draw a diagram
  • diffusion and osmosis is good for later topics
  • the surface area to volume ratio is not needed as much but knowing the concentration gradients etc like the diffusion things is needed for later
  • the unicellular, and multicellular stuff is needed for like when u do infectious diseases regarding the different types of pathogens e.g if the virus/bacteria etc is unicellular or multicellular, prokaryotic or eukaryote etc
  • I'm pretty sure you should know that transpiration stuff
  • structural, physiological and behavioural adaptations
  • natural selection and stuff like that

just know your general stuff and look at the yr 12 syllabus and see what needs like prior knowledge

agree w everything she said for bio! for chem yeah you basically need the foundations such as properly writing chemical equations and balancing them, finding moles and conc., understanding limiting and excess reagents

i did pretty badly in year 11 chem and lowkey did not understand it but imo year 12 is muchhh better and the year 11 content other than basics (if anyone knows anything else important add on) hasn't really been relevant
