Everything in the universe is as a result of something else or has a creator.

Energy = God

Im pretty sure no matter how hard anyone tries, no one here is gonna prove that god exists or doesnt exist. However what everyone should consider is what if he does exist? If he does then you need to find him and set things right with him so you dont end up in hell right? I think the best way to find if he really is there is to try to follow what the bible says, pray to God and see if he responds.
I am a christian and trust in Jesus and know he exists through my personal experieces. Really what i want to say is just try and found out for your self whether or not he is there, try and speak to him with an open heart and not a closed mind. If you find afterwards that he doesnt exist then i have wasted a short part of your life. If you find that he does exist then your life will have been saved for eternity.
If you honestly do want to find god then i suggest talking to a christian friend (if u have one) or just walk into a church and talk to someone.

And about why would god 'Make' us worship him and go to church and pray, once you find god and beleive in god you wont take going to church, praying and worshiping him as if you have to. You will want to.
What I have learned about Christianity, is that that will not work. That isn't faith that's saying "OK if there's a God out there I'm set."

You're argument is essentially that it would be better if he exists, therefore you should believe that he exists, yet again with the pragmatism.

Beyond logic/our reasoning. Maybe not so much a God, though there's something.

Hi Guys,

There's a debate on tomorrow night... here are the details from the pamphlet:

"Which belief is correct? logically, historically, scientifically, factually and emotionally, which makes more sense?

Alan Conradi- a member of the Atheist Foundation of Australia- will be debating Michael Paget- the UTS Anglican Chaplain

Thursday 16th October
6PM in the Theatre Lounge
Level 3 The Tower Building
(it's a room located just off the Food Court ... between the Union Shop and that Union Cafe/food place)"

It's hard to put it to statistics like that, especially when there are more than two options.

A more accurate statement would have been you have a 50/50 chance at guessing whether God is real or not.

Well... not really. If there's absolutely no way for us to confirm whether something exists then to talk about the probability of it actually existing seems an utterly meaningless exercise.. I mean, what's the likelihood that there exists unicorns which we can't detect? Under my view of the world at least, it isn't 50/50, to try to discern anything about the nature or the possibility of something which exists outside of our knowable reality is to engage in pointlessness.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! XD

i'd say "certainly not", but i suppose there is the UBER-INFINITESIMAL - and i mean ASTRONOMICALLY infinitesimal - chance that he does.

though do i feel obliged to point out that there is more likely a celestial teapot made by the dinosaurs floating somewhere within the asteroid belt on the way to Jupiter.

.............that is both true and amazingly incorrect at the same time.
