So I just heard from a friend that heard from his friends that Year 11 counts towards the final ATAR now.
Is that true?
I thought everything's going to start fresh in Year 12.

Sup kev. I think he might be accelerating... or, as kurosaki said, trolling
I've heard of some school doing the three-three HSC structure (not too sure what it's called) but he might be doing that, and maybe that affects which marks are counted? Don't know.

If you do accelerated courses (doing some HSC courses this year, and the rest next year) then it would count for those courses.

Otherwise, no.

If you're doing Preliminary HSC, it does not count.

Only time things would be counting in yr 11 if if you are doing Yr 12 coursework (i.e acceleration).
