Double Answers In Maths (1 Viewer)

I was wondering if in any maths test and the HSC General Maths 2 exam if you are allowed to provide more than one answer and if one of them is correct, would you get the full marks for the question, or does providing two answers regardless of whether they're right or not just get you an automatic 0.

I would say you wouldn't gain all the potential marks if you don't state both answers.

e.g. x^2=16
x= -4,4 <- double answer

Not exactly sure what you mean but the way I interpret is that you're saying if you give two answers to a question and one is right and the other is not would you still receive full marks??

If so, then unfortunately no. I did this in my prelim HY and was deducted a mark as I didn't specify which one the chosen answer.

This is equivalent to circling all the multiple choice answers and expecting to get full marks.
