The answer was alliteration, but the device on the 'S S S' one is actually the technique of sibilance. The Board of Studies is stupid.

Well I don't know what the question was, but it sounds like you could be right. Though it could technically still be considered alliteration, especially if they shared the same first syllable... so something like... Sally sang... sadly or something.

You're looking too far into it, there was a question just like this in the trials with "wayward ward" and people put down assonance. Too many people overanalyse English MC.

Very true. Legal studies multiple choice is absolutely ridiculous. There are so many times when more than one option is technically correct. -.-

yes but that is honestly above year 10 level english, it is also alliteration, which is year 10 level. The board of studies is tailoring the answers available to year 10 level.
