i know that e to the power of log something will cancel out them both. but does it work the other way too? like log to the power e?

atm im stuck on a question where i have to find the inverse of y=e^3x-1

i've gotten: x=e^3y-1

x+1=e^3y and yeah not too sure how to go on

Log both sides:

Log (x+1) = 3y

Y = 1/3 log (x+1)
