4u integration is way too different with 2u/3u integration, so just leave it later. if you want to start topics yourself, i suggest you should do either graphs or complex. those two are the easiest topic and the concepts arent really difficult. (maybe except for the prove in complex)

As above, Complex Numbers and Graphs (however if you haven't done much curve sketching in 3U Graphs will be difficult at first).

4U Integration is a lot different to 2/3U Integration, however by becoming good at 4U Integration, 3U Integration becomes the easiest thing to do.

To start 2/3U integration, it's good to learn the theory behind it. The Cambridge book is excellent at explaining these concepts.

You have to be familiar with 2U differentiation/integration techniques on logarithms, exponentials, trigonometry, applications to be comfortable in doing 3U differentiation/integration, substitution, primitives of powers, applications, inverse trigonometry.

ok thanks for the advice. i was working through some of graphs and complex numbers and noticed that complex numbers is kinda hard. graphs aren't too bad but.

Good luck. Remember to have a look at some examination style questions for Complex numbers, they are alot different than those in your textbook.

Complex is definitely the right place to start. There's no prior knowledge needed to begin, just algebra skills.

As SpiralFlex said, look at past HSC questions as they are different to the text book.

Are you in year 12 next term? An early start would've been a while ago. Nothing too much you can get done now, just start on the first topics. All the best though :)

well its not like i wanted to finish the whole course or something. just wanted to do a topic or something, so there is plenty of time for that.

That's true. I just believe you'd be spending time better solidifying your understanding of the preliminary content. That way there'll be no need to constantly revise it come year 12.

I still stand by my requisition of finishing 2U topics first before attempting 4U.

but when we start it in school we wouldn't have finished the 2unit course anyways.
I just think the success of Mathematics comes down to knowing your basics strongly. How are you going so far? Staying up late?

I'm not doing anything at the moment. I still need to consolidate.
