Hmm.. what seems easy to some people may be hard for others..

You should be choosing your major on what you want to do, not if it is easy or not..

from what ive heard hrm isn't too difficult and neither is marketing if you are able to write coherently. if u are more of a quant/numbers person u'll struggle and find those difficult to do wel(passing is usually easy getting c and above for those majors is hard if your english writing skills aren't fantastic).

if u enjoy numbers more than writing- go finance or acct. out of acct and finance ive found acct to be alot more straight forward to pass but harder to get really high grades, finance is easier to fail but once u get on top of the material it's easier to get d's and hd's since there's less subjectivity as it's more numbers based than acct.

I reckon it is a bit offensive when people claim majors are easy.

I reckon all majors are of equal difficulty. Obviously the strengths of the individual will help in choosing the major.

Furthermore, choose what interests you.

I loved Corporate Strategy in Semester 2 of Year 1, so I chose HRM mayself. I am no good at numbers though!

But numbers minded people cant handle HRM because they dont have a conceptual understanding.

Choose what you like and what you are good at!

It is very challenging. I like concepts and the like so HRM was a perfect fit.

Dont do a major because people recommend it. Do it because you like it and are good at it.

Remember what you major in is the area of business you will work in for the rest of your life. Would be foolish to pick a major based upon such a childish reason as difficulty.

i agree.. Internatioanl marketing has got to be the most annoying subject in the marketing major.. but other subjects are really fun and interesting: i.e consumer behaviour and apm. Im looking forward to advertising though..:)

If you've finished all of the business core subjects, I can only assume that the one you found easiest would be the way to go for the easiest major. If you did poorly in accounting, then it's not going to be the easiest for you. If you did poorly in everything, maybe business wasn't a good choice.

@jerruy hr is the easiest without a doubt after speaking to lots of my friends- even people who aren't that decent in their written expression are passing so its def a passable major. However just because its easy doesn't mean its easy to get a job in that field when you graduate- its very very difficult.

we cant tell you whats easiest. That answer is very subjective, but to shut you up accounting and economics is very easy. Do those two :)

The simplest way is to look at the core subjects.

If you did well in:
Marketing Fundamentals- do Marketing
MPO- do HR or Management
FBF- do Finance
Accounting for Bus- do Accounting
Eco for Bus- do Economics
Accounting 2- do Accounting
Corporate Strategy- do HR or Management
Business Statisitcs- do a Business Stats (equivalent) major.

I did HR because I was really competent in MPO and Corporate Strategy whereas the maths subjects weren't my cup of tea. HR despite all the talk that it is an easy major is actually pretty difficult if you have no understanding of the labour market. HR students joke that Management, Marketing and Advertising are easy but its just that a joke. No major is easier than another. It all dependents on your skills, aptitude and attitude in the major.

As people have said, picking a major is a subjective thing. Pick the subjects that work for you as opposed to just doing what other people tell you.

You will spend 50 years (assuming no career changes) so you should like the area you are studying. Nothing would be worse than in 10 years, you saying I shouldnt have listened to the people on BoS and done that major. I should have X major that I wanted to'.

no hrm is easy and one of the easiest majors at uts for b bus if not the easiest- dunno enough about management but its easier than all the others. even people with average written skills are passing with very little effort.

If you want an easy major hr is the way to go, though if you want a job in hr that is a diff cup of tea very competitive
