hi there!
i'm currently in the process of selecting subjects for y11~y12.
I'm thinking of..

1. English - ESL
2. Math ext 1
3. photography (non-atar 1unit course - for making 12 units : i have to drop this subject in year12)
4. Business OR Economic
5. Design Technology(home economic) OR Visual Art
6. Japanese continuer
7. TAFE Tvet Financial Service (Accounting)

i have total 14 units for year11, but after 4weeks of term1 in year11, I can drop either TAFE accounting course or one 2 units school subject.
So after 4 weeks, i will drop 'Business OR Economic' or japanese if i like to do accounting TAFE course, so that i can do 12 units in year11 with one major work subject(DT or Visual art) and TAFE accounting course.

so the question is... Business or Economic!!!

a) which is better? (for example, in terms of scaling/how hard/relation with accounting course.....etc) - i'm aiming for atar 95+

b) after 4weeks, i have to drop either accounting or one school subject. so if i like to do accounting, then what do i hav to drop among Bus/Eco/Jap?

What's better?

Scaling: Economics, by a huge margin.
Difficulty: Relative, but 99% sure that for people who do both, it's economics that's harder.
Relation with accounting: Dunno.

I'd recommend you to drop Accounting or Business after Week 4 if necessary.

Economics would have a better relationship to accounting (I know at my uni, economics is compulsory and macro/micro are compulsory for accounting majors). I've done first year economics and second year macroeconomics and i would say HSC eco has helped me quite a bit with them. I cant speak for business though.

Economics is definitely harder. I got business instead of economics and I can tell you now business is extremely straight forward. Hence it doesn't scale so well. And it also doesn't really challenge you as a student like the higher maths and physics etc do.

thank you for ur advice! :)
but i meant that if i drop accounting, then go straight with other school 12 subject that i've decided.
and if i don't want to drop accounting, then i have to drop one of 2units school subjects, and it means that i have to drop either "japanese" OR "economic or business"
