Can someone please use "Economies of Scale" in a sentence outside of its definition?
I'm having difficulty understanding whether it's a noun or adjective.

It is difficult for new telecommunications companies to start up as companies like Telstra have achieved economies of scale that allow them to undercut many new entrants into the market.

Here's one example from an old uni assignment of mine (probably not the greatest sentence but it's the best I could find):

"Hence, the ability of an integrated business system to facilitate economies of scale within an MNC demonstrates its superiority over an autonomous system (Gans, et al. 2009)."
