does any one out there know if it is possible to gain a bachelor of education (k-12) and major in TAS, or is it only possible to major in geo, maths, english and IT?

Hey!

Don't quote me on this as im not 100%sure.. but to start with i dont think it is even possible to do a bEd ranging from k-12. I'm pretty sure it is broken up into primary (k-6) and secondary (7-12).

However, to find out more information about this and the subjects you can major in you should try contacting someone regarding these questions. A god place to start would be to email thowes@csu.edu.au and she will be able to either answer your questions or put you onto someone who can. I hope this helped you out a little bit at least!

Feel free to add me on msn if you want to talk more about anything gemmacroft@hotmail.com.

k-12 is kind of broad.

The way each age group is taught is much different to each other.

Plus to work as a high school teacher you have to have qualifications in your specialist field. You cant just do a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) and work in a high school. You need to complete another degree on top of the Bachelor of Education (Secondary).

However, the Bachelor of Education (Primary) from what I have heard is ok in high schools if you're employed as a special education teacher.

This is why they have different education degrees depending on what age group you want to teach.
