so what the hell do you do in Labs?
I read in the course outline that there's a weekly assignment that needs to be done before the class ends... do we do this in class? and it says to do it before class as well? what the??? do we finish it before or during class? and when are the questions given for this "assignment"?
and is the subject hard if you didn't do any computing subject in year12? I heard that this course is pretty hard due to the concepts and everything.

You do the labs before the lab is finished, so you can do a bit of it at home bring it in your usb and ask the tutor for help and get it marked before the lab is finish. The subject is pretty challenging but you should be alright if you do the labs yourself instead of just getting it off other people. The questions are given in the lectures in due course.

oh so you have to complete a set of questions on the computer? and what if you complete the questions at home, can you get it marked at the start of lab and leave?
and what is the subject mainly about? like what subjects from highschool is helpful for this course?

No high school subjects are useful, just common sense. It's the biggest piece of shit course at UNSW, it's a complete and total joke. Should have done COMP1911 or COMP1917, way more fun.
