hi guys i have a couple questions about the engineering/commerce degree and the flexible first year for engineering and was just hoping that you could help me.

firstly, i would just like to know that if I do choose the flexible first year degree whether or not i would be doing the same sort of things in the first as specific engineering students (ie students studying electrical or civil engineering for example) or would i be missing out on stuff that i would have to make up when choosing the specific course the following year

with regard to the engineering/commerce degree i was just wondering if it misses anything in comparison to a normal engineering degree ie does a normal engineering degree cover more material in engineering. for the commerce part i would assume that it would be less than a normal commerce degree which is fine with me.

finally, would u guys recommend doing a eng/commerce degree over a regular engineering degree considering i def have enough points to get into eng/commerce

thanks for the help!!!

uhm - first year flexible involves pretty much common subjects throughout most if not all enginering fields in first semester (ie. physics maths computing and engineering design) - semester 2 tangents off on the major, so it's best if you choose before that.

also, mechatronics requires comp1911, whereas other fields of engineering accept engg1811 OR comp1911, so think about that too in case u wanna do mechatronic engineering.
