you can do eng subjects whenever you like, as long as you have either done / are doing the assumed knowledge course.

what i meant was that in the first 2 years it is mostly mech subjects then the ratio swaps, thats what i have seen with a friend doing elec/bus. oh and 90 units per year in year 2 and three

oh and what is an option?? and mech has different streams like materials/mechanics(vectors)/sensors(elec)/maths/phyics, so it is quite easy to do 4 mech per sem while keeping in line with prerequisites

your first comment is exactly what i ment, and since you only do 3 eng subjects a semester you would usually only be able to do another 3 next semester (unless as you said you double up and do an assumed knowledge course at the same time)

for chem eng you have 3 subjects taht you have to complete and you choose between bio and physics as your 4th subject for 1st semester. when you do a double degree (with business) your not required to do physics or bio, you do a course from business instead.

plus in mine at least you dont ever have to do 90units a year, however you may choose to to get out of uni quicker. At the moment the ratio is 3 to 1 for me, but i believe it changes to about 1 to 1 in later years.
