Go for it, I know of a number of girls in my Aeronautical Engineering course, I'm sure they also exist (well I've heard a rumour or two that they do) in Mechatronics.

mechanical is making machines and mechatronics is the electronic side of mechanical where u make robots etc... i guess its onli if u like constructing stuff but that goes with all engineering

Mechatronic Engineering incorporates deciplines from
-Computer Engineeering
-Electrical Engineering
-Mechanical Engineering

so its a good mix of all three engineering courses.

the way i see it is, if u complete the mechatronics course you will have a sound understnading of all 3 engineering courses and so can enter any of the 3 fields after uni.

admittadly u wont be as well a trained as someone who did that courses singularly, but it opens doors..

the main job aspects are robots of all kinds, manufacturing lines etc
