yes this is true and for all types of engineering, this is mainly because engineers are considered to have the best problem solving skills (majority of engineers end up in management related jobs)and hence many finical institutions like to poach graduate engineers.You however still need relatively good marks to enter such institutions .

It's great to see the 'problem solving skills' all the engineers put on show for everyone.
