helloo all,
i've just started year 12 this term and have just gotten my report from year 11 and i feel really conflicted abt keeping adv eng
ive always HATEDDD english, never read my prescribed texts, honestly have never been motivated to work hard for english. throughout high school, i felt like i was just trying to do the bare minimum to pass.
i got 45%, 75% and 70% for each of my 3 assessment tasks respectively, which is pretty shit i cant lie. and im one of the fewwww ppl in my grade that got a C everyone else got B or A. would it be possible to salvage my grades for HSC? should i just do english standard instead? does anyone have any advice for me?
to anyone who has dropped from adv to std, im curious of what the difference in difficulty is like?
thanks if yall read hehe

Literally less than 100 people band 6 eng std per year. No exaggeration at all. There is little to no benefit to dropping to standard.

doing standard is -5 atar points straight away (quoting a past hsc marker)
its also basically the same work load, plus really good scaling. I had a friend who got 55-65% in english adv at nsb and scaling got him into a crazy high band 5
