if we get an extract then yes you have to quote it, maybe like once or twice
just replace ur old quotes with the extract and you'll be fine

I wouldn't worry too much abt the semantics of the question bc you will usually be doing two more anyway... but i would personally try to quote it through each block para to link the ideas

isnt that the way you tackle mod b extracts?? liek you discuss the extract in every para? so like for that question id compare natural visual imagery in "twisted branches" to the same in preludes "withered leaves", the motif of stagnation in "a broken spring in a factory yard" to prufrock "measure(s) out [his] life in coffee spoons", and the imagery of decay in "rust that clings to the form" to hollow men "form prayers to broken stone". it's all about being able to like draw substantial connections between the poems and how they're all linked by eliot's modernist scepticism and evolving worldview

noooo def memorise ur quotes. it'll serve you the best to just write a paragraph for each poem and memorise them all and then spit out the ones you need/are most confident in on the day. so like i'll be doing ideally preludes/prufrock/hollow men, but if we got a rhapsody extract id prob swap preludes for rhapsody

the point of mod b is to be difficult like that i fear. you have to view the five poems as a single thing as opposed to five different things. like chapters in a book i guess. they're all parts of the whole, so they're all linked, and they all have to be analysed compared to each other. context changes slightly between each poem and eliot is inspired by different artistic and literary movements, as well as different things in his life, while writing each one. as long as you're able to link to the extract in some meaningful way in every paragraph you'll be absolutely fine

LOL if it's mod a i'm super cooked. seriously mod b is totally fine as long as you understand the progression of eliot's own journey within each poem. mod b is about eliot himself just as much as it's about the poems. you need to discuss context fluidly as you analyse each poem -- his thoughts on the sordidity of existence in preludes and rhapsody, his complaints on how industrialism spits out stagnant useless people in prufrock, his numbness and desolation post ww2 in hollow men, and his religious conversion in magi. the oeuvre is a set of poems sure but it's also eliot's life journey if that makes any sense. you can't discuss the poems meaningfully if you're not discussing eliot's context

hollow men and rhapsody? def not. their contexts and inspiring movements are completely different. you could prob chuck your preludes paragraph into rhapsody, but not hollow men

rhapsody is more about the landscape and stuff and how it affects individuals psyche whilst the hollow men presents a hint of religious redemption even amid the decay. so basically rhapsody is the cause and the hollow men is the journey and Magi is the solution.

this 100% this. in a way all of eliot's poetry is talking about civilisational decline it's just about the differences in like nuance and stuff. preludes and rhapsody are in the same niche like that, rhapsody and hollow men are not
