Hey,
i'm in year 12, doing After the Bomb, and i'm considering using a Documentary on the cold war for a related text. Is this okay, or do i have to use a fictional text?

Would a doco and a film be considered the same textual form and thus I can't use both as supps?

Ooh, that's a toughy.

I guess not, because they'd both have the same techniques (kinda like an article and a short story would both use the same techniques, but are still different text types)

But I probably wouldn't do it anyway, just in case. They're both the same medium, really. Both cinematic.

1. You are allowed to use texts of the same textual type (unless things have changed since last year). However, its not recommend.

2. A documentary is different to a movie. Just as an article is different to a novel. They have a different purpose, and usually a different bias. Techniques differ as well.
