Our teacher said that how well you do in Paper 1 moderates how well you do in paper 2. Is this statement true? and if it is, how does that even work? :p

mever heard of that one before.

I'm gonna take a blind guess that it has something to do with Paper 1 being common for Standard and Advanced students and used as a basis of how well you compare against Standard and other Advanced people, as well as a way for BOS to fairly distribute marks/bands across the different texts in the Modules paper (since different texts have different level of difficulties).
