Hi Am looking for suggestions on who I could go to for English coaching for my son who is in year 7 - am looking for someone who he can go to for a longer term

i suggest u do group tutoring for yr 7-10 at colleges like Pre-Uni or Talent100 or Matrix as they can provide materials and regular homework which will improve your son's english skills. It will also be cheaper than 1 to 1 which is not the best for english.

One to one tutoring is usually very effective for English, particularly for senior years, at least, that is from my personal experience. But I do second your opinion that it is probably better to go to a coaching center for English tutoring for junior years unless there are significant areas that the student is struggling at.
