if you're a student you're automatically part of sam

the text lists should be on the cop op site soon, when they are i will post, i keep checking every couple of days because i want to know how many hundred dollars they will cost me this time

tabris - classes are first come first served. but apparently they keep slots for the people with later last names. so if you're a B and they tell you there are no spots left chances are there ARE spots left but they are saving them for people who have been told to enrol later than you. that's what i have heard.

this entire process is highly confusing.

and whoever said that you can't pay the student activity fee with cash, are you sure about that? and where would we pay that....

Its quite easy, this is how mine turned out:

1) go to c5c226 to pick up your enrolment pack. It is best to confirm you have your timetable planned out with no clashes, and backups if needed if there are no classes left. Also, fill out your enrolment form while there or find a place somewhere where you can. The key is to have everything ready, so you dont have to spend unneccesary time filling it out later and changing.

2) go to the amphitheatre in w5a and get your academic approval signatures

3) go to where they send you, i think this is the computer room phase, where you line up, have your timetable ready, and they input in your classes onto the database, this can be frustrating/long so be patient.

4) go to the SAM amphitheatre and collect your extra stuff

You don't have to join SAM..but you have to pay the student activity fees, of which the SAM fee is already included, so you might as well join.

If you don't join you miss on the somewhat useless membership card and the diary, which has some offers or something in it. Like 20% off Macq Uni clothes tops lol

I don't remember what I did on enrolment day or what was in the packs .. you make your timetable before, go to uni tell them your name they'll give you HECS form and things you need to fill out, HECS-Help or something this year, plus a list of things you need to do on the day.

Well once the Co-op text list is up...and only those under 'text', NOT 'recommended'. And only if you're really sure about your subject decisions.

And sometimes the course convenor sets something different to the list (not the text book, but there might be a supplementary core pruchase), so you're really not sure till after the 1st lecture.

ACST books were useless to me, STAT lecture slides were good, but book I rarely looked at, HEM Accounting book is something you'll need, both Macro and Micro books I used heavily, econometrics textbooks I didn't use but heaviliy used the slides.

This is all based on last year, but Ithey might've changed I guess..

I have a question. it isnt really worth a new thread, but it may have to do with enrollment day (because i might not eb able to do it other the web:

I recently applied to undertake two first year law subjects, and it seems i have to wait until 14 Feb to enrol on the web. But im not certain if this is correct because i thought enrollment finishes 29th Jan? Who is in the same situation, and what do i actually have to do? I got the letter, but it was kind of brief and more confusing. Im not actually changing my degree yet (i dont think) all i am doing is taking two law units for now.

Any help is appreciated.

lol, ok.

You enroll the units for second semester, yes. but don't get too uptight about the choices and picking the exact times yet, you have plenty of time to change your second semester classes just before second semester. I actually only enrolled in 3 units for second semester at the start of last year and picked my 4th before second semester. If you really wanted to and you are not sure what to do second semester you can leave it for now, but its better to just pick your units anyway and change them if you have to later.

Hope that helped.
Now, i need my Question answered :p
