Hi,

I'm a first year noob, who is going to enrol in sem 2 soon and i'm wondering if i'm allowed to enrol in 27 UOC for sem 2 since on enrolment appointments in myunsw for sem 2, it says

under the Units column in Teaching period 2 2010, it says 27, but for the other 2 rows it says 24 units. i'm kinda confused to what this means that i'm allowed 27 UOC or not?

Thanks.

You're generally not supposed to enrol in anymore than 24 UOC unless you're granted permission by your faculty to overload.

They don't normally give permission to overload to first years anyway but there are sometimes exceptions.

Contact your school/faculty for further info.

Actually, enrolling in up to 27 units of credit is generally not considered overloading. If you think you can handle the workload, and there aren't any different rules specific to your faculty (you might want to check this), you should be able to enrol in 27 units without needing special permission. However I'd recommend enrolling in 27 units only if you have to. 24 units is the norm.
