hi im having trouble answering this question:

"suggest a reason why the levels of ultraviolet were higher on land than in the ocean."

Its because at this time there was no ozone layer to filter the UV rays. So therefore on land there were high amounts of UV rays. The water is a natural filter of UV rays hence there were lower levels of UV radiation here.
