Aboriginies don't receive anything like 'unlimited freedoms and benefits'
From the moment of birth, your future is largely decided based on your parents standing in the world. If you have rich, educated, hard working parents, you are likely to turn out similarly. The children of aboriginal australians are, as a population, generally born significantly disadvantaged. Things are far from equal at birth. The government is trying to address this with benefits for children of this generation, in the hope that if there are incentives created for education and work for this generation, future generations will value these things and be less reliant on government assistance.
Of course, there are plenty of significantly disadvantaged anglo children, but there's no simple way to sort them from the pack.
The governments assistance to Aboriginal Australians is distributed with the purpose of addressing the undeniable inequality that exists at birth. Whether handouts are an effective means of addressing this inequality is another matter.
If you're educated and grew up in a middle class family, you have nothing to complain about, and it's ridiculous to suggest that anything less than the entitlements aboriginal Australians are given is not equality. You were born with all the advantages.
This thread is distasteful.
