I will be over the moon if I get any higher than my trials (92/105). But I doubt it.

Yeah, why do I have this feeling too?
Just anxiety surrounding the fact that it's the HSC - the official exam. I know they always stress that they give marks based on merit but I have a feeling they're gonna fuck me over so hard. Hope not.

I got 98/105 in my trials, and I felt my responses were stronger in this aside from Question 3 in Paper 1 (although I could use the 'I had to do the Crucible' excuse). Anything around 95 would be excellent.

18, 19, 18 -> 55+ / 60 Im hoping for this mark for paper 2. Since i answered question properly, wrote 1300-1400 each essay and i had similar quality essays confirmed by hsc markers before. I wrote 48 pages 4-6 words a line, I had lots of quantity also.

Paper 1 not too good. 35-40~ / 45

So yeah Im expecting mid 80's- 90/105

This is what i'd give myself.

Paper 1
I - 11/15 - bs-fest, took the visual stimulus for a joke.
II - 9/15 - made up on the spot, cliche, but excellent use of alliteration and a solid opening 10 lines.
III - 8/15 - 2 pages, not good, don't deserve to pass but will on account of my highly academic related text.

Paper 2
I Frankenstein/Blade Runner - 7/20 - was shit, i tried a joke in the intro to settle the nerves but i don't think the markers will appreciate it.
II Hamlet - 9/20 - was an improved effort, with the use of several quotes i should be up in the D-range :)
III Hughes poetry - 5/20 - was shit didn't talk about a related text, haterz gon hate.

I'd be happy with:
Paper 1:
Section I = 11/15
Section II = 13/15
Section III = 13/15

Paper 2:
Section I = 17/20
Section II = 13/20
Section III = 14/20

I'd be ecstatic if I can grab those few extra marks in P1S1 and P2S3.

But if I can replicate close to what I got in trials...party for sure.

Paper 1
Unseen Texts - 14-15/15
Speech - 13-15/15
Skrzynecki - 14-15/15

Paper 2
Frank/Runner - 19-20/20
Hamlet - 14-16/20
50th Gate - 18-20/20

It's really upsetting because I got 99% in my trial and came first and now I think the guy coming first overall will beat me because he studied a lot after I smashed him in the trials

Rather conservative estimates here, a lot of these im giving myself lower marks then i got in the trials even though my essays were better in the hsc.

Paper 1:
Unseen Texts - 11/15 - Sometimes i have a habit of not talking enough about techniques with the unseen texts so this might cost me in the 3/5 markers.
Creative Writing - 10/15 - Was kind of short and didnt use enough sensory language, my story was not cliched at all and the concept of belonging and not belonging to both a place and people (with a little bit of reminiscing about the two) was conveyed intrinsically rather then using the word belonging or any synonyms so that should be good.
Essay - 12/15 - My essay was pretty good, my prescribed text was Emily Dickinson's poems so it wasn't too easy to answer the question - i think i managed but dont think i referred to the perceptions part of the question enough so im going to say i'd be capped in the b-range.

Paper 2:
Module A: Frankenstein/Blade Runner - 15/20 - Might be able to get into the A-range however. My essay focussed on how the contexts influenced the two texts and how the difference between the two texts contexts changed the way things were presented.
Module B: Hamlet - 8/20 - Dont think i can pass, wasnt very prepared and my essay is bassically rant on Hamlets inaction and how it built up to the ending. Tried my best to answer the question and referred to the play and a few of its themes with quotes - its a bit brief but should allow me to get to the top of the D-range at least.
Module C: Smithsonian website Bearing Witness To History - 15/20 - I was anticipating a question more on the relationship or interplay between history and memory and the question was about how they were unique, so that might show as i hadn't really thought about that.

(((11 + 10 + 12) / 45) * 40) + 15 + 8 + 15 = 67.3333333. That is more than enough to get a band 5 in previous years and this year the cutoffs might be lower, im happy with getting 80+ in english so it looks like i will get it.
