Hi,

I am excluded from my current program of study due to repeated unsatisfactory academic results (breaching the University's academic Progress Rules for a second time by failling more than 2 courses in one semester)

I am given an opportunity to appeal agaisnt this decision. That is called Show Cause.

In particular, my grades are 2 NCN, 1 N and 1 P in semester 2, 2014. This leads to the exclusion.

My academic performance was affected due to illness. I was unable to sit in 2 final exams. I did have medical certificate and applied for special examination but the student administrator did not approve it. That explains why I have 2 NCN in my academic transcripts.

I understand it is extremely hard for Academic Progress Commitee to upheld this decision. My appeal has to have strong grounds and professional language. However I am lost and do not know how to set a strong and persuasive appeal.

Would you mind to advice me please?

Cheers,

N

Depends on the type of illness.

Was it a sore throat, or an infectious, highly transmittable virus?

Highly recommend you go to your university's counsellor, then with his/her advice, lodge an appeal. Bonus points if you can get your counsellor to provide documentation atop your medical certificates.

Even without that, you have a solid chance of successfully appealing as your premise is reasonable.

Good luck for what it's worth.
