You people are terrible. Just because you don't have a creative bone in your body, doesn't mean you should attempt to degrade the esteems of those more talented than you. Appreciate other people's passions the same way they appreciate your math/science/whatever. And if passion isn't one of your assets, then you're seriously lacking in the true depth of a human being.

Its easier for them to put down dance then to admit that it isnt the biggest bludge ever

If I was in charge, I would remove the Dance course from the syllabus. Waste of time.
goddddd you silly males don't respect the artform of dance!!!
if only you knew ..

Dance requires more work then some other subjects, it requires thought and creativity aswell as analysis and applying knowledge. you'd all be s***ing yourselfs if you had to answer a viva voca question about performance quality and safe dance and manipulating movements. keep you mouths shut :haha:

No, dance is not just 'prancing about'.
There are three components to the subject - Appreciation, which is theory based; Performance, where you perform a dance your teacher has choreographed; & Composition, where you compose a dance.

It requires thinking/thought, and having the ability to convey an intent to an audience. The subject requires a knowledge of history, art etc.

How can you judge what you don't know?

nooo they are completly different. they share no commonalities at all.
proof by logical induction

CAFS = a hsc subject
DANCE = a hsc subject
CAFS is easy
DANCE - is easy
CAFS - for noobs
DANCE - equally for noobs
CAFS - is boring
DANCE - excessively boring

therefore since its true for (is a hsc subject) , (is easy) and (is boring) it must operate in a parallel structure

therefore CAFS = DANCE

*reads through thread*

Wow, bloody nerds really have no appreciation for art....or they're just jealous they don't have the bodies of dancers because they're sitting on their computers all day studying and trying to solve equations. =)

That didn't feel so nice, did it? So stop being so obnoxious just because you're good at chemistry and physics and all that scienc-y shit. The people who do dance don't pay you out because you do science, they could easily make fun of you like I just did.

Frankly, the only reason science careers are paid brilliantly and appreciated by many is because it can potentially cure AIDS and shit, whilst dance is just making one's self happy (and the audience of course who come to enjoy it). Both are hard, but dance doesn't cure diseases so as usual, the world thinks about themselves and indulges people who are good at science for their own benefit and that's why some people think because they do chemistry and physics the world should kiss their ass, when in reality they're the ones who are being used....frankly, I'd rather be a dog walker for the rest of my life and just use the scientists of the world to solve the world's problems because I am not concerned about the people who inhabit the world, I am more concerned with myself and being happy doing what I'm doing and in no way does that make me or anyone else who does a lot of art subjects in school stupid....they just use a different side of the brain, and their bodies.

*****
Anywho, there IS extension 2 dance!? =/ I don't see it in the board (not bored--BOARD) of studies website exam page, is it just practical work or something?
