Extension Two Word Limit Loopholes? (1 Viewer)

I've got a bit of problem with my MW. I've chosen the critical response medium but I also have a combination of creative aspects as well (i.e. short story). So my question is:

Is my MW confined to the 5000-6000 words of the Critical Response Medium or can I claim that because it is creative in some aspects, it is within the 6000-8000 word limit for short stories?

Email the Board of Studies, specifically Don Carter, who is in charge of all the English marking for the HSC.

Another tricky thing to consider is that with the critical response, the word limit is inclusive of the reflection statement, whereas with short stories this is not the case... adds to the dilemma
