+1. It does not help, when parents (especially Asian) say "you will achieve nothing in life", when they base it on numbers only...;
Precisely. Asian parents (not all but generally) are too materialistic, especially when it comes to marks. To them, as long as we become a lawyer/doctor, we'll be "happy".

If this really is your perspective, then something is wrong, regardless of your degree.
But honestly, you don't have as much of a social life as it's hyped up to be.

Honestly, I don't believe HSC is hard is you pick the right subjects. Anything you do that you don't like will be hard to do well in. Also, I don't think anyone should not do well of they pick the subjects that they genuinely like unless other factors are at play (disaster etc).
