hey,

i got given a question;

y= 2x^3+2x^2-2x-1 and need help factorising it.

I know that you need the factors of d which is -1 and it need to give you zero. but it doesnt. So what are the intercepts?

That cannot be factorised, even if, it will look ugly. Please clarify the question.

Do you want the solutions?
solutions for x are around:-1.5, -0.4 and 0.9

Y-intercepts?
y=-1

X-intercepts?
x is around -1.5, -0.4 and 0.9

But these solutions for x have been found using a calculator by the halving the interval method. No actual way to find the x-intercepts on a 2 unit level without calc. Please check the question.
